The Bone Morrow Charity Event
The Bone Morrow Charity Event is supported by Centenary College leadership and concerned
employees. The event is dedicated to two friends of the College, Mary Jane Barry and David
Turrisi-Chung. The goal is to raise awareness about bone marrow matching and create an
opportunity for Centenary College and the surrounding community to donate hope to others.
According to the Be The Match® Foundation, “Every 4 minutes, someone is diagnosed with
a blood cancer like leukemia. For many patients a marrow transplant is the only life-saving
treatment — their only chance for a cure.” Through the largest registry of potential bone marrow
donors and cord blood units in the world, the Foundation offers support, education and guidance
to patients and their families following diagnosis. In partnership with the Foundation, event
coordinators ask all to: Join Us. Make a Difference. Save a Life.
